The project was designed to enable a better understanding of sustainable development (SD) amongst tutors, and allow them to experiment with SD within different areas of the curriculum. The project aimed to: develop a strategy to embed SD into all curriculum areas; create piloted and evaluated SD activities and lesson plans in four curriculum areas; educate staff on the subject of SD; work with a wide variety of staff to develop SD pedagogies; and create an online ESD resource bank for FE and HE tutors offering lesson plans and resources that can be adapted to suit each curriculum area.
This project aimed to improve the use of ILT to support effective teaching & learning by engaging learners in the use of technology, giving them the space to demonstrate / develop their skills in the use of modern technology to enhance their learning experience and support their teachers and peers.
The college sought through this project to find ways to integrate new methods of teaching to animate learning of theory in the technology and construction department. The solution adopted was to use video in learning and form staff into a community of practice to support each other in of use of video in teaching.
For some time the college had been keen to integrate the capturing, storing and dissemination of teaching sessions (audio and video) into the normal working practices of its staff. This project explored the available technological solutions as well as the values and attitudes of practitioners to the concept of recording classroom practice and how such values changed following trial runs.
This project was intended to inform the organisation about the capability, viability and efficacy of online induction for specific courses to move paper-based induction and initial assessment out of the classroom and lesson time, while also improving tutors’ digital/ ILT skills and the learner experience.
