ESOL support pack for

Catering

The module supports the teaching of Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications in Catering. It is not a complete programme of learning. Instead, aspects of the training that place a particular demand on literacy, language and numeracy skills have been prioritised.

The themes in this module support learners to read and understand important information at work: roles at work, following instructions, reporting incidents, understanding workplace and training information.

Totton College: Using m-learning (mobile technology) to improve the achievement of A level Biology and Geography students

This curriculum project aimed to improve achievement in A level Biology, a significant factor in which was the very varied level 2 science knowledge and skills of students. M-learning facilitated this through personalised learning and active/interactive independent learning that both enthused and challenged the students.
