Step Forward: closing the feedback loop — Tyne Coast College

This Outstanding Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (OTLA 3) project in 2017/18 sought to prompt adult GCSE and Access students to make more effective use of feedback from teachers.  Since learners enrol at college with a variety of academic starting points, the project team hoped this would help them set meaningful stretch targets for learners and enable learners to set their own short-term goals and take greater control of their learning.

This outstanding e-learning resource, created by Abingdon & Witney College, brings together a series of resources providing a toolkit that helps build teacher confidence in developing their own technical and professional network using LinkedIn and then transfer those skills to their students.
Use this resource to:
• Explain why having a Linkedin profile is important to students;
• Create CPD events about professional profiles for staff, students and employers;
• Use and tailor your own Linkedin profile template;

Foundation Learning: Work experience e2e - Activities

A comprehensive scheme of work for learners to prepare them for work-experience/placement. The nine topics covered include: What will I get out of it?, Where are the skills?, What jobs are there?, Could I do that job?, My dream job, Meet the experts, Health & Safety, E & D and the Right programme for me. All of them contain session plans and supporting materials. These resources could be considered with another of our resources: Foundation Learning: Work experience e2e - CPD.
