This project assesses the impact of 13 projects completed in the 2012-13 round of the LSIS Stepping Up in Sustainability Fund, as well as the key ingredients for success that could inform others looking to take forward similar projects.
This guide was developed with funding support from the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS). It provides information and guidance to help prospective ATAs identify what key considerations need to be taken into account in establishing an Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA). The guide is intended for organisations, including providers and other sector bodies, that are investigating the ATA model and the practical considerations needed to be taken into account should they decide to set up an ATA.
Leading to Excellence aimed to design, implement, test and roll out a fit for purpose project management toolkit which would be disseminated to delivery organisations and partnerships based in the learning and skills sector to implement into their working environment.
Through this project, working with the New Engineering Foundation, the college looked to support organisations in developing an effective approach to reducing carbon emissions, which would lead to positive economic and social outcomes for learners, employers and communities while also mitigating climate change and other adverse environmental impacts.
The aim of this sustainability project was to work in conjunction with Leeds Recycling to make recycling at Craven College a success and to have a ‘Zero Landfill’ policy. This would be done by several means; new types of bins, new composting areas, and the ‘Lets Go Zero’ campaign. This will eventually involve around 7000 people and cut our CO2 Emissions.
Through this project, the college developed 'FutureProof' - an innovative programme of embedded tutorials and ‘Green Group’ activities, achieved through staff groups, curriculum and enrichment programmes to develop and embed a whole organisational approach to sustainability within the curriculum, the College, the local community and the wider FE sector.
This case study focuses on how Kaplan, a finance and accountancy training provider, developed and implemented a national safeguarding strategy incorporating the development and implementation of policies and staff training and review of HR policies and procedures.
