Leeds City College: Digital literacy in ESOL - Leadership in Technology case study 2013

This project addressed an identified need to update and develop new learning materials and ways of communicating appropriate both to the students and to the rapidly changing field of Digital Literacy, with a particular focus on ESOL students, assisting them to effectively communicate online and create a positive online presence. The project also looked at how to develop staff skills in this area.

Exeter College: Exploring lecture capture possibilities - Leadership in Technology case study 2013

For some time the college had been keen to integrate the capturing, storing and dissemination of teaching sessions (audio and video) into the normal working practices of its staff. This project explored the available technological solutions as well as the values and attitudes of practitioners to the concept of recording classroom practice and how such values changed following trial runs.

Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service: Using mind mapping technologies to improve active learning and teaching

The aim of this project was to research and evaluate cost-effective mind-mapping software options that would be accessible for all. In addition to usability, the products also had to be evaluated in terms of cost, accessibility and use within both learning and management context.

A4e Limited: Sector Snapshots - using technology to enhance learner experience and team working

A4e’s programme delivery takes place across the country and trainers develop and adapt materials. A4e wanted to narrow the gap between the quality of experience their learners receive and create an enhanced team spirit amongst delivery staff, by creating a resource to reflect the key employer expectations in three popular sectors – Health & Social Care, Retail and Hospitality & Catering.

Wirral Lifelong and Family Learning Service: Self organised learning in Digital Arts

This project was about introducing creative technology to parents and children, so that they can work together in the production of a story book. The aim was to introduce the technology and help the parents begin a process whereby they can access their work remotely and complete some of the project from home.
