Mantra Learning: Get Skilled – Get Noticed – Get On: digital marketing in employability programmes

In 2011 Mantra commissioned a review of the processes associated with its Job Gym employability programmes, focusing on the touch points with learners, the administrative processes and data flows associated with these programmes. This project was a pilot to assess the capabilities of Digital Marketing technologies in contributing to improvements in this expanding business area.

Bournville College partnership: Engaging with Employability

This resource relates to one of a series of collaborative development projects on the themes of Getting people into work and Apprenticeships. Each project was coordinated by a lead provider, who recruited partner providers to work together to achieve the project objectives. The Bournville College partnership project involved four Colleges, two work based learning providers and, for phase one, an adult education provider. The partnership improved the administrative infrastructure for employability programmes.

The project sought to provide a ubiquitous Personal Learning Environment that would exploit the unique appeal of social networking to benefit learners and teaching staff. It was anticipated that the mashup of new social technologies would improve students’ appetite for learning, drive up achievement and provide just what they need to maximise opportunities for collaborative learning and skills development.
