Regional Sustainability Collaboration project: West Midlands - Developing ICT based projects to contribute towards best practice in sustainability

Focusing on resource efficiency and carbon reduction, this project sought to develop a simple and low-cost system for allocation of estates management maintenance jobs, as well as a carbon-cost register for recording savings made by webinar-based meetings and training. and a Moodle-based Health & Safety staff awareness training course to reduce the resource costs of delivering this training.

Stepping Up in Sustainability: Hartpury College - RespECT: Responsible Energy Consumption through Teaching

The aims of this project were to: encourage learners, staff and stakeholders to innovate and implement sustainable development principles as part of ‘bottom up’ development; reduce the College’s energy usage via energy saving technology and behaviour changes; use energy monitoring to support the outcomes of teaching and learning; engage learners and the local community in sustainable development.

Improving services for employers: City College Norwich

This resource comprises the outputs from one of a series of projects to test a range of approaches to improving and extending training and related business services for employers. The college realised that their systems, being geared for individual learners, needed updating. Their project also set out to improve the quality of their business service to employers through the development of a web-based portal.

Bournville College partnership: Engaging with Employability

This resource relates to one of a series of collaborative development projects on the themes of Getting people into work and Apprenticeships. Each project was coordinated by a lead provider, who recruited partner providers to work together to achieve the project objectives. The Bournville College partnership project involved four Colleges, two work based learning providers and, for phase one, an adult education provider. The partnership improved the administrative infrastructure for employability programmes.
