Principal focus of the project:

The focus was to examine how tutors used starter activities to improve lessons, the kind of starter activities that were used, and how effective the starter activities were according to tutors and learners.

What is this about and what were the main findings:

Both tutors and learners were enthusiastic about the use of starter activities, but tutors were concerned about the amount of time they need to be able to develop them. Learners valued the activities that were relevant to the lesson more, but understood that they had to be used to embed other topics occasionally.
