This project aimed to achieve a greener future by getting learners and staff fully involved and committed to carbon reduction, through a Switch Off and Recycling campaign using student champions to change behaviour.
The aim of this project was to embed a sustainable development ethos within learning delivery and the learner experience, throughout all stages of learner engagement, delivery and evaluation. The project team sought to develop and implement a strategy for this through empowering staff, learners and stakeholders to provide their own vision on what sustainable development means to them. To maximise impact, the team evaluated and disseminated best practice to key partners within the sector, and sought to ensure it became part of the ongoing learning strategy.

The aim of the project was to address the stereotypical negative awareness of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) which is common in land based industries, and embed EDI within teaching and learning in all Sussex colleges through a programme of exchange of best practice and staff CPD. A number of outputs and outcomes were delivered, such as the integration of two college and community groups via a programme of joint outdoor activities. It also led to a sustained partnership between the Colleges and an inner-city trust in the form of joint activity programmes.

This case study outlines the strategy and leadership which underpins the Learning Mentor Team and the ‘Respect Approach/Culture’ across the college. Student Support and Guidance Services is structured into two divisions, Student Services and Learning Support.
This report covers nine regional conversations with further education and skills providers to explore young people’s views and perceptions about respect. A total of 382 participants were consulted representing young people drawn from communities in city and unitary authorities, coastal communities and areas of ethnic diversity, deprivation and regeneration.
