An OTLA project by University College Birmingham that aimed to improve the reading skills of Post-16 Sports students who were resitting GCSE English by creating a community of shared practice comprising English and Sports lecturers.

This poster attempts to summarise that mapping for working in the fitness industry.

These flyers attempt to summarise that mapping. Job roles are considered, recognising the importance of the technical skills that employers need plus promoting maths and English skills under calculation and communication.
The Education and Training Foundation have produced a series of session planners to support practitioners teaching in offender learning. The aim of the planners is to embed the use of digital skills and collaborative skills development into their delivery. This zipped file includes session planners for: Art and Design, Construction, Functional English, Functional Maths, Hair and Beauty, Hospitality and Catering, Sports and Fitness.
This zip file contains the first drafts of fifteen flyers summarising the maths and English dimensions of a variety of technical and vocational areas. They were designed to help providers and employers to embed maths and English skills into their study programmes and work experience placements. Although these are still relevant there are now revised flyers that can be found on the Study Programmes Exhibition Site on the Excellence Gateway.
