A comprehensive e-Guide produced as part of the Foundation’s ‘Practitioner-Led Action Research’ programme (2013 - 2015) to support practitioners (e.g. teachers, trainers, classroom assistants, assessors) in the post-16 education and training sector to design and undertake ‘multimodal’ action research and reporting.

3 out of 5 is a scheme to engage people in maths. It is a new approach that encourages people to develop their maths skills outside the maths classroom - such as in the gym, garden, library or in non-maths education. Learners complete the 'challenge' by completing activities on 3 out of 5 topics: Estimation, Puzzles/Games, Value for money, Maths facts and Practical numbers (maths used in everyday life. In addition to the Guidance notes there are the 3 out of 5 maths scheme Challenge Cards and a flyer that can be used to engage learners.
