A dictionary / vocabulary building task which covers some of the key skills required to do particular jobs e.g. doctor, cleaner, teacher, bus driver, Prime Minister etc. Aimed at E3/L1 ESOL/literacy learners, this worksheet was originally housed on the talent website.

The vocabulary covered in this worksheet is very useful for students working on improving their own CVs.

Suggestions: Use the first activity for an individual or pair work study skills / dictionary practice task. Follow up with a fun pair discussion / decision making task for activity two.

A 2-page worksheet aimed at entry level literacy/ESOL learners. This resource was originally housed on the talent website.

The 1st 3 parts of this worksheet deal each with verbs, nouns then adjectives, then the last part is a test to encourage discrimination between the 3 parts of speech. The aim really behind this is to eventually encourage students to mark the parts of speech as they record vocabulary in their notebooks, and generally to encourage a greater awareness of grammar.

Friends Centre: Promoting LGBT Equality

This resource comprises the report and resources developed by an Equality and Diversity Partnership Project led by the Friends Centre. This project focused on how best to promote LGBT equality in line with race, gender and disability equality within an adult and community education setting in Brighton & Hove. It involved consultation with adult learners, staff, volunteers, other learning providers and the wider community on LGBT equality, identify key issues and concerns, and developing a whole organisation approach to promoting LGBT inclusion.
