Research findings report – Identifying effective practice in employer engagement in provision for 16/17 year olds on courses below Level 2

In November 2017, we commissioned the Learning and Work Institute (L&W) to conduct research to identify employer engagement activities which are effective for learners aged 16 to 17, with low prior attainment (no qualifications at Level 2) studying at Entry Level and Level 1 in Further Education (FE) providers. The work aimed to support the successful implementation of the transition year referenced in the Government’s Post-16 Skills Plan, which will involve an element of employer engagement activity.

Apprenticeship Standards – Checklists and Mock End-Point Assessment Project Report (April 2018)

This project builds on an early research into End-Point Assessments (EPAs) carried out by AoC in September 2016 as part of the Future Apprenticeships programme. The objective was to test and trial apprenticeship EPA activity through stages considering a range of areas such as the resources used by End-Point Assessment Organisations (EPAOs), the consistency of grading by Independent Assessors (IAs), and so on.

ESOL Access for ALL

ESOL Access for All is intended to support inclusive learning for bilingual learners with learning difficulties or disabilities. It is modelled on the original Access for All but directly linked to the ESOL Core Curriculum. In addition, it updates the original content of Introducing Access for All2, expands it and includes issues that are particularly relevant to bilingual learners and their teachers. It is intended as a working document that you use to support your planning, teaching and understanding.

TSSP: KEITS Training Services Ltd

The Traineeship Staff-Support Programme (TSSP) produced provider-led resources to help you deliver traineeships. The resources were developed in 2014 and remain relevent for colleges and providers looking to develop and grow traineeship programmes. These resouces from KEITS Training Services Ltd focused on supporting staff to engage with employers, robust inital assessment processes and supporting learners from vulnerable and excluded groups and communities and those who have protected characteristics.

ASSP: Babington Business College

Created as part of Apprenticeship Staff Support Programme (ASSP) which ran from 2014-2015 and produced a suite of provider-led resources.
