Lincoln College: Supporting innovation in sustainable construction for business

Project Synopsis
A regional resource repository (Constructionsite) along with the Innovation in Sustainable Construction consortium of college partners, have been brought together under this new LSIS project, together with other interested parties proposing to develop further accessible, skills transfer activities around sustainable construction technology for the construction industry in the East Midlands. We want to build on the good work already completed and increase the content of the modules based on input from employers.

Greater Manchester Learning Provider Network: The application of innovative technologies and training to improve employer engagement within the work based learning sector

Project Synopsis To provide accredited instruction and guidance to WBL staff on how to engage with employers – in doing so we have now developed a Level 4 Higher Education accredited course on Measuring the Impact and Value of Learning and Development. To provide an accessible on line Return On Investment calculator for providers to use at an individual employer level. We call this ApplyROI. This is available for all work-based learning provider staff to use at www.applyroi.co.uk.

Equip Training SW Ltd: Environmental sustainability and its Impact on Quality in the FE sector

The project explored the impact of sustainability in the FE sector revolving around the use of computers within e-learning centres. It increased the knowledge of all staff, achieved a quality standard, IS0 14001, developed an e-learning course and involved long term unemployed into the green agenda and whether increased knowledge in this sector improved basic numeracy, literacy and employability prospects.
