Equality North East - Using the equality standard to embed Equality and Diversity

This project aimed to use the Equality North East Equality Standard to assist partner learning providers within a cluster to embed equality and diversity and meet Common Inspection Framework Requirements. The cluster were provided with the advice, tools and techniques to embed equality and diversity within their people strategies alongside receiving information about learner positive action and good practice within and outside the region.

Equality North East - Responding to Diversity: Promoting Equality and Excellence

This resource comprises the report and resources developed by one of two Equality and Diversity Partnership Project led by Equality North East in 2009-10. The aim of this project was to identify examples of positive action and effective equality practice within the North East's Learning Providers and then compile a report of these case studies in order to raise awareness. Core components of the project included research into case studies, completion of a report, and dissemination of information through networks and an event.

Boston College - Raising aspirations among young learners from disadvantaged backgrounds

This resource comprises the report and resources developed by the Equality and Diversity Partnership Project led by Boston College in 2009-10. The project aimed to identify young learners across Lincolnshire who are in receipt of EMAs/ALGs or who live in post-coded areas identified as areas of disadvantage. The team also aimed to engage with them as “experts” through electronic and paper based surveys, one-to-one interviews and focus groups about the barriers to success and effective intervention strategies.

Stockport CES Stepping Up in Sustainability video - arts and media

Stepping Up in Sustainability: Walsall College

Through this project - entitled 'Sustainability and Responsible Stewardship: Bringing it all Together' - the college aimed to: raise awareness and understanding in a number of diverse groups in relation to their personal contribution to the sustainability agenda; enter dialogue with the New Engineering Foundation who would provide data evidencing need, advice and guidance along with on-project support; and encourage individuals to make a big difference. Using the title of ‘Pass it On’- it was intended that a sharing and raising of awareness would take place across a wider audience.

Stepping Up in Sustainability: Sussex Downs College

As the largest college in the South-East, Sussex Downs College aimed, through this 'Eco Pledge Project', to measure and embed sustainable practices working towards a zero waste strategy. Activities were designed to influence and raise understanding of climate change impact both in the organisation and amongst other learning partners, while new curriculum delivery addressed skills gaps in emerging employability areas.
