Regional Sustainability Collaboration project: East Midlands - Skills for the Green Economy

This project started from the position of the Green economy as one of the main growth areas of the economy, and the need for the effective, efficient and rapid deployment of appropriate skills flexibly, responsively and innovatively to empower learners and employees. The aim of the project was to identify the types of skills required in the Green economy and to find ways of delivering these skills in the sector.

Stepping Up in Sustainability: Sussex Downs College - SustainIT

Through this project, Sussex Downs College sought to continue to promote a shift in behaviour, and in organisational sustainability performance, by embedding sustainable practices focusing on carbon reduction strategies, and with the development of an online learning tool: SustainIT. Key outcomes sought included improving understanding of climate change and further improvement across the organisation.

Pre-employment provision - International Centre for Guidance Studies (iCeGS): University of Derby, A cluster approach to employer engagement

This set of resources relates to one of nine projects focusing on developing Apprenticeships, employer responsiveness and pre-employment provision. The projects designed, piloted and delivered activity in one or more of the above strands, including workshops, study or exchange visits, coaching and mentoring, consultancy and the development of self assessment tools. ICeGS designed and piloted a programme based on the principles of action learning to support work based learning managers and curriculum leaders to develop a cluster approach to enhance employer engagement.

Stepping Up in Sustainability: Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change - Sustainability in Learning

The aim of this project was to embed a sustainable development ethos within learning delivery and the learner experience, throughout all stages of learner engagement, delivery and evaluation. The project team sought to develop and implement a strategy for this through empowering staff, learners and stakeholders to provide their own vision on what sustainable development means to them. To maximise impact, the team evaluated and disseminated best practice to key partners within the sector, and sought to ensure it became part of the ongoing learning strategy.

Developing Apprenticeships - Remploy: Working with disabled learners

This project's aim was to deliver three ‘Working with Disabled Apprentices’ consultancy workshops in Oldham, Birmingham and London designed to increase the number of disabled people completing Apprenticeship programmes.
