Professional Standards ‘How to’ Guides: Open Doors International Language School.

A 3 hour introduction to the standards has been developed including a simple ILP for tutors working in voluntary and community sector organisations. The aim is that the introductory session can be used for new Third Sector National Learning Alliance (TSNLA) members and by other members within the TSNLA.

Professional Standards ‘How to’ Guides: Babington Group

The resource demonstrates how Babington aims to embed the 2014 standards in a new core training programme for their delivery team. The focus will is on delivery of government funded Apprenticeships, Traineeships and DWP provision. The guide links into the organisation’s QA system and processes, with clear links to the learner journey process. There are also links to performance management to support evidence of progress against the standards.

Professional Standards ‘How to’ Guides: Halesowen College

The guide is in the form of an e-book that enables organisations to collate, celebrate and promote staff development internally and externally. The CPD offer in the e-book embeds the professional standards and focuses on how to embed the standards in CPD and qualifications. Guidance has been developed to demonstrate how to use the tool and the impact it has had on practitioners and includes talking head videos.

Professional Standards ‘How to’ Guides: Derby City Council Adult Learning Service

The guide is aimed at staff at all levels who are involved in quality improvement with a particular focus on those with an interest in the development of reflective practice. It demonstrates how the professional standards are being used by DALS to aid reflective practice to identify individual development needs.
The resource includes photographs, screen shots, case studies and an impact report about how DALS has used the Professional Standards to develop its Maintaining Professional Standards” document as part of its quality framework.

Professional Standards ‘How to’ Guides: University of Huddersfield

UoH has developed a resource aimed at teacher educators, trainee teachers and subject specialist mentors across the sector, including employers in the private and public sector. It is a guide on embedding the standards within initial teacher education in 3 areas: observation and assessment of trainees’ practical teaching; planning and evaluating the progress of trainees and evaluating the overall achievement of trainees in relation to the Ofsted inspection framework for ITE programmes.

Professional Standards ‘How to’ Guides: University of Wolverhampton

A tool in the form of a video has been produced that reflects the core principles of critical reflection and the development of reflective practice. It is aimed at ITE managers and teacher educators, and shows how trainee teachers are engaging with the standards in a critical way, leading to increased self reflection. The video includes recordings of three teacher journeys.

Professional Standards ‘How to’ Guides: Easton & Otley College

Easton & Otley College (East of England) Easton & Otley College has developed a self assessment tool in an electronic format that will identify the CPD needs of practitioners through measuring the confidence of practitioners in relation to each of the standards. The aim is that it will be used as a benchmark for planning CPD and ITT trainees. Guidance has also been developed to demonstrate the use of the tool and impact following the pilot use of the resource.

Developing subject pedagogy and understanding (GCSE English Language) - 1.1

This module was commissioned in 2015 by the Education and Training Foundation to increase capacity in the education and training workforce to deliver GCSE English Language, with the potential to be developed longer-term into a Level 5 module to sit within the Diploma of Education & Training. This module specification is for the new GCSE first being taught in September 2015. This module specification is for the existing GCSE qualification which includes listening and speaking components.
