Workers Educational Association (Yorkshire and Humber): Developing on-line learning programmes in active citizenship

This project aimed to develop and pilot an online active citizenship course. A cohort of staff and volunteers would be trained in how to construct and manage an online course and the project would support the transition from having online resources to offering online courses.

This project sought to develop an Intranet/Extranet that reflected the organisational structure and where possible made information accessible within three clicks. As a result it aimed to bring internal efficiencies, add value to the customer experience and change organisational attitudes toward the production, availability and storage of information.

Southend-on-Sea YMCA: IT operations restructuring

This project aimed to restructure the IT operations of the Southend YMCA, by implementing Microsoft Terminal Services accompanied by Thin Client machines, adopting effective SBC (Server Based Computing) improving management, performance, access & security. In addition, the project implemented dual booting, enabling students who struggle to fully use Mac computers to use a Windows environment.

The Development Manager Ltd (TDM): Removing barriers to Mahara e-portfolio adoption through new print functionality

TDM is a work-based provider that spends a significant part of its time encouraging and helping other providers to embed technology within their own provision. TDM had encountered problems in trying to embed reflective e-portfolios within the sector and through this project added a PDF print function to Mahara views to increase the uptake, therefore encouraging reflective learning in the sector.
