Principal focus of the project:

The aim of this project was to use audio versions of GCSE texts in different ways to engage learners, and support their skills development when tackling the written format.

What is this about and what were the main findings:

Recordings of texts were produced in-house to be shared prior to, during and after lessons via Google Sites to encourage independent learning and motivate learners. The approach evolved into one of flipped-learning, and was used with GCSE resits, Construction and ESOL students. The project reported that some students had found the approach novel, engaging, and had accelerated their learning.
