The project moved the focus from SPaG to creating a more encouraging environment for learners to express their thoughts and feelings, and to build their confidence through the written word.

What is this about and what were the main findings: 

Two English tutors from City of Liverpool and Hopwood Hall Colleges collaborated to develop a learner-led approach to creative writing. Students submitted writing to one another, and responded without formal critiquing. The project reported that creative writing - which is not teacher assessed - could break down barriers to young males’ expression, and had improved outcomes.
