WILD Young Parent's Project - Inspiring Young Mums through IAG and Student Experience Days

This resource comprises the report and resources developed by an Equality and Diversity Partnership Project led by the WILD Young Parents’ Project (with Cornwall College) in 2009-10. The aim of the project was to improve the access to college for young mothers living in Cornwall by providing ‘experience days’ and offering support to overcome the barriers that they face. The project was centred on learners and their individual needs which shaped the content and delivery style.

Dyslexia starter kit

The Dyslexia Starter Kit aims to help you review your provision for dyslexic learners, or to help less experienced providers develop dyslexia support from scratch by: Supporting developments that will improve the quality of your dyslexia support offer; Enhancing consideration of equality, diversity and inclusion; and Improving learner achievement. It links to a variety of resources in the Excellence Gateway and to the Dyslexia toolkit on the Foundation Online Learning environment.

These materials develop and practise measure skills (time) at Entry 1. Includes teacher notes.

Learners will be able to understand the times of the day, know days of the week, know seasons of the year. Part of a set of 2 resources to include teachers notes. The numeracy teachers notes include instructions relating to Entry 1 Unit 3 tasks, as well as guidance on materials needed, curriculum aims, extension activities and support.

Stepping Up in Sustainability: Accrington and Rossendale College - Sustainable Development @accross

Through this project the college aimed to implement and embed a strategy and action plan for sustainable development across the college focusing on three key areas:
Staffing – embedding sustainable development in induction and appraisal
Students – embedding sustainable development in induction, enrichment & tutorial
Curriculum development – development of a sustainable development education curriculum framework

National Star College: MyCampus virtual campus

This project developed the MyCampus online virtual campus to allow students with learning difficulties and disabilities the opportunity to engage with current learners. The National Star College is a residential college and the current web resource did not sufficiently engage prospective learners in a way which met their needs, particularly in providing an interactive information resource.

Cambridge County Council Adult Learning and Skills: VLE platforms for tutors in contracted and direct delivery provision

This project was intended to inform the organisation about the capability, viability and efficacy of online induction for specific courses to move paper-based induction and initial assessment out of the classroom and lesson time, while also improving tutors’ digital/ ILT skills and the learner experience.
