Principal focus of the project:

This research project's central aim was to produce a high quality, standardised theory training platform to be used by employers in conjunction with the training provided by the researcher's organisation. It aimed to achieve this via an online blended learning platform, setting challenging skill development targets for outside the centre, working with government appointed sector skills bodies, and improving access to training resources to improve learning, understanding, and to standardise education for apprentice placements.

What is this about and what were the main findings:

Learner feedback on the quality of the new resources was generally positive, with all participants reporting that they found the new resources easy to understand, and a majority (60%) finding that they were more engaging and contained relevant information. The new material was also linked to improved achievement in standardised assessments
