Principal focus of the project:

The project focused on using freely available smartphone apps to assist SpLD students in the areas of planning and organisation, spelling (dictionaries for learning), and consolidation of learning. A pre-research questionnaire was used to form baseline data, and then again at the end of the research to show progress.

What is this about and what were the main findings:

The project found that 'one size does not fit all', with SpLD students needing a choice of apps to find one that works with them. Even so, very few used mobile phone apps to assist them in their learning, and the researchers identified co-morbidities that meant the students involved had different needs relating to their learning preferences.
