Principal focus of the project:

The project set out to explore the thinking of year 11 students in school that shaped their choices about further education

What is this about and what were the main findings:

Learners were serious about their future but many were unsure about how to reach their aspirations and needed help to navigate the choices and information they were faced with; many thought they had too much information to deal with. Students still valued the paper-based resources such as prospectuses, even though they thought these neeeded to be improved. All learners wanted more information on progression into university and employment, from their chosen course. Location was not important for school students at this point although the pattern in college is that a minority of students change course due to location after year 1. Enrichment was not as important to students as we thought it was.
