Principal focus of the project:

This project aimed to identifiy and address aspects of motivation, confidence and attainment in resit GCSE Maths by capturing the learner voice.

What is this about and what were the main findings:

The project focussed on interviews, discussions and questionnaires with both students and parents around their experience of learning Maths in the past. The team reported that their stories had shown how negatively motivation, confidence and attainment had been affected. The research had however also highlighted ways in which the Maths Department could better meet learners' needs,  e.g. all schemes of work had been rewritten.
