Principal focus of the project:

Working to the collective aim of developing students’ self-efficacy and resilience in learning, teachers were encouraged to develop their own action research pathways.

What is this about and what were the main findings:

This project built upon Sheffield's involvement in OTLA 6. Central to this was teachers being self-critical and adaptable in order to create an environment where student self-belief and a growth mindset could thrive. This included student voice activities, questioning techniques, adjusting the language used in the classroom, tasks focussed on resilience, and reflective journaling. The project reported positive impacts on both teaching and learning.
