Principal focus of the project:

This project focused on a collaborative relationship between several employers and a college in order to improve student experience, improve their understanding of the sector and job roles, and develop employability skills. It also aimed to update staff skills on emerging sector practices and engage employers in learner activities and teaching sessions.

What is this about and what were the main findings:

The project brought together several employers, connected in some way to the subjects being taught at the college, into an Employer Advisory Board, that worked with college staff and students to better align teaching, learning, and assessment content with current working practices. The report found that students' understanding of the sector and their employability skills were enhanced, staff gained sector knowledge which improved staff confidence in their delivery, and provided networking opportubnities for employers.
