Study supporters - OTLA Digital Case Study

etf:2933

The project was designed to explore the impact of ‘digital home study support’ on the confidence and performance of learners on our maths and English programmes and the mothers of children in the secure estate. Strategies to improve engagement and enhance the quality of the learning experience on these programmes were largely successful although tutors continued to report that learners were reluctant to take responsibility for their learning and continue with their studies at home. In the secure estate, the parents we worked with were experiencing increasing difficulty in trying to keep up to date with what their children were doing in school, which in turn made visits and maintaining positive family relationships much harder.

Feedback for Progression - OTLA Digital Case Study

etf:2932

A case study exploring a collaborative project between Abingdon & Witney College and Newham College, exploring whether providing students with digital feedback could accelerate student progress, as well as reduce the total amount of marking time for a teacher. The project partners wanted to enable more learners to progress from Level 2 to Level 3 courses by giving staff greater time to plan inspirational, challenging and engaging lessons - whilst at the same time making feedback more incisive and effective.

Freestyle Feedback - OTLA Digital Case Study

etf:2931

A case study exploring a collaborative project between Barnet & Southgate College and North Hertfordshire College, exploring why GCSE maths learners were not making as much progress as they could when using traditional written methods of feedback. The project sought to supplement written feedback with digital feedback in order to improve learner engagement as measured by  academic outcomes.

Digital Feedback - OTLA Digital Case Study

etf:2929

Digital Feedback was a collaborative project between Havant and South Downs College and Capital City College Group that sought to explore the effectiveness of digital feedback in post-16 education. Research indicated that both audio and video methods positively influence learner perceptions of feedback in Higher Education. This project aimed to begin to build the same evidence base for Further Education by investigating staff and learner perceptions of digital feedback.

Showcasing learners capabilities to prospective employers

etf:2854

The Develop Cluster Group worked with the Mitie Foundation who co-produced a Business Challenge Day for their high needs learners. This enterprise day was to inspire and showcase our learners’ capability to prospective employers who could potentially offer work experience or paid work in the future. This zipped file includes the SEND Workforce Development Study Programme project's case study, dissemination presentation and employer leaflet.
