This starter kit is aimed at leaders, managers and practitioners and provides guidance on providing continuing professional development for staff in embedding English, maths and ESOL across the curriculum. Although the resource uses the old Skills for Life terms: literacy, numeracy and language, to describe these subjects all the strategies are still valid. Users should be aware that the documents in the Excellence Gateway identified in this resource may also use the old terminology.

This set of resources relates to one of nine projects focusing on developing Apprenticeships, employer responsiveness and pre-employment provision. The projects designed, piloted and delivered activity in one or more of the above strands, including workshops, study or exchange visits, coaching and mentoring, consultancy and the development of self assessment tools.
