Health & Safety at work

Stubbing Court Training Limited: Promoting best practice in Equality and Diversity

This resource comprises the report and resources developed by the Equality and Diversity Partnership Project led by Stubbing Court Training Ltd. The project aimed to create an accessible resource that promoted the importance of equality and diversity and inspired employers to take positive action. It also delivered high quality taster opportunities with employers for under-represented groups, with unemployed individuals identified by Jobcentres.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council: Addressing under-representation of gypsies and travellers in learning and promoting the development and sustainability of new businesses

The aim was to bring together the gypsy/traveller communities and arts/craft people to enhance the development and sustainability of new businesses through a combination of virtual business solutions and community tourist/craft ventures. This involved a wide range of local and one national bodies.

Stepping Up in Sustainability: Exeter College

The Exeter Urban Garden Project aimed to transform some disused land into a vibrant sustainable garden and outdoor learning space accessible to the whole community. Driven through the Foundation Learning Faculty, the project was a focal point of the College’s ambitious Sustainability Programme and intended as a replicable example of sustainable living for Exeter. Employability starter kit

This kit supports those who are developing employability provision in response to learners seeking work, those at risk of redundancy and those who are in work but need to improve their skills to sustain their employment and make progress. Through its five sections the kit links providers to useful resources and guidance which should help those new to employability provision take the steps needed to get started.

Stepping Up in Sustainability: Stockton Riverside College - Responding to Future Sustainable Skills

Stockton Riverside College wanted to inform the curriculum by developing new sustainability skills provision in partnership with the Local Enterprise Partnership, Local Authority and employers. The aim was to develop and deliver a new sustainability toolkit and to pilot a volunteering scheme where Student Sustainability Champions would undertake a placement with employers to inform and improve their sustainability.

Stepping Up in Sustainability: South Thames College - Promoting engagement on Education for Sustainable Development

The project built upon the success of the earlier Stepping Up in Sustainability project ("Stepping Up in Sustainability: South Thames College - Community Engagement on Green Skills and Low-carbon Zones"). The aim was to deepen the relationship the college has with the Furzedown Low Carbon Zone and the Greener Jobs Alliance and in particular to work with a local school and employer to promote sustainability. This was achieved along with a link up to HE and offering students community based assignments.
