Principal focus of the project:

This project focussed on how we know that CPD has not only helped teachers' professional development but it also whether it has impacted on and benefitted learners

What is this about and what were the main findings:

Personal invitations or requests for feedback on hwo CPD has impacted on staff and learners were received positively by staff and response levels were high. Implementing a process of feedback at the end of a CPD session encourages participants to identify 'next steps' and the actions they will complete to change their practice, and have an impact on learners. Using tried and tested approaches (supported experiments or action research and coaching was very successful for the small group who participated. Manageable chunks, with content that could be quickly integrated into practice, resulted in high satisfaction rates for staff involved and measurable impact on learners. While signifcan tprogress in CPD was idnetfeid the project also highlighted the need for further development of personalised action plans for individuals that recognise colleagues' growth as professionals supported by the College.
