The project was delivered in partnership with Kendal College, Furness College and Carlisle College as part of the Outstanding, Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (OTLA) programme in 2016 - 2017. It aimed to improve practice in the teaching, learning, and assessment of maths and English. The impact of the learner voice was strong and the focus was on improving the utilisation of information about learner starting points and how this is used to inform TLA practice and progress monitoring.
This OTLA project aimed to identify and bring the attention of senior leaders anf managers to the issues arising in FE and Sixth Form Colleges.
This 2017 Outstanding, Teaching, Learning and Assessment (OTLA) project was delivered in partnership with Bury College. It explored how information and learning technology (ILT) could enhance personalised and contextualised learning and assessment in maths.

Getting assessment right is critical at all stages of the learning journey. These guidelines for assessment and tracking in maths and English were co-created with the sector. They set out clear expectations of effective practice in assessment for learning, providing a framework for organisations as well as individual teachers and trainers.
