This project explored ways to reduce the anxiety of ESOL learners, and strategies to help them remember how to use vocabulary confidently and accurately.

What is this about and what were the main findings: 

As many of their ESOL learners had experienced trauma, the approach adopted combined mindfulness coaching with strategies to aid vocabulary retention. The project reported that using a consistent and focused approach with built-in practice activities had afforded learners the best chance of transferring knowledge from their short term to long-term memories. Mindfulness strategies would be embedded for the start of the next year.
