The aim of this project was to explore the benefits of providing GCSE English resit learners with recorded performances to improve their understanding and enjoyment of written texts.

What is this about and what were the main findings: 

It was decided to involve both staff and Performing Arts students in the activity of performing specific 19th century extracts from previous exam texts. These were videoed and recall activities set for the target group. The project reported that there was a significant increase in learner engagement, understanding and recall.
