This project explored overcoming language, digital skills and socio- economic barriers to increase engagement and success for ESOL learners in online and blended learning.

What is this about and what were the main findings: 

To address the digital divide, the College provided devices where possible. The team developed an Initial Assessment and a Language for Online Learning tool to prepare ESOL learners for remote/blended learning options, such as Mentimeter, Kahoot!, Wordwall and MS Teams etc. The project found that it was just as important to assess learners' understanding of  the key vocabulary  associated with digital skills, as the skills themselves.
