A case study describing a project experimenting with digital techniques to enhance student practical skills in preparation for employment and work experience.
The two main aims of the project were to develop teachers' skills and confidence to use Virtual Reality as part of their teaching and assessment approaches, and improving partnerships with employers and employer-led package development to supplement current learning experiences.
The outcomes of the project included: better preparation for education partners and employers to respond to the introduction of T-levels; more sharing of practice between employers and teachers in the development of Virtual Reality technology and industry-specific learning packages, and; a joint development and evaluation between employers, teachers and learners of Virtual Reality approaches, with positive findings about its impact on engagement and learning.
