This project used learner-led outdoor and project-based activities to develop learner ownership and target setting in Maths and Engish.
This project explored effective target setting in Math and English, using project-based approaches to skills development.
Maths and English tutors collaborated with vocational tutors to plan activities and projects that would allow Foundation Learners to ‘think outside the box’. These monthly themes were centred in the local community around topics such as leisure and tourism, pollution and wellbeing. The project reported that more than half of the cohort could now set their own targets and plan projects linked to their Maths and English, while over three-quarters had moved into their chosen vocation.
