A case study of a project to incorporate a set of key transferable skills identified by employers as important into the Accounting curriculum.
The project started by working to raise the participating lecturers' awareness of the importance of embedding professional skills identified by the Accounting Sector into the curriculum, surveying education partners and using the results from this to support CPD sessions for participating lecturers.
Participating lecturers critically reflected on their own practice and developed their skills as practitioners to provide teaching, learning and assessment beyond pure knowledge of accountacy. They also worked in collaboration with employers to improve their own understanding of the current culture and ethos of the accounting sector.
