The themes in this module support learners to access and follow health and safety information. They include: taking notes during training, reading instructions that include graphics, reading product labels, following security and fire procedures, making emergency phone calls, reporting accidents and incidents both verbally and in writing, temperature and involving children in safety matters. One of five modules support the teaching of Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications in Early years They do not supply a complete programme of learning. Instead, aspects of the training that place a particular demand on literacy, language and numeracy skills have been prioritised.
