Principal focus of the project:

This project is stage one of a longer term plan to use CPD through modelling good practice and to spread learning to all staff via learning coaches. In this stage, the Learning Coach network was involved in making authentic use of the VLE in a Flipped learning mode. They were invited to develop and experiment with the VLE and other technologial devices thrugh resources such as an area for sharingand preparing for meetings, a resources and reading area (videos, images and text) and a series of discussion threads

What is this about and what were the main findings:

Key outcomes included: the development of nineteen discussion threads spread across two areas; a signifcant expansion of the resources bank including videos, research and reading material; a Ted Ed tutorial template for demonstrating how to create others; routine use of the VLE in preparing for coaching sessions; and the submission of views in advance of VLE development meetings. Colleagues new to technology preferred to already have developed a strong personal trust and relationship with the coach before joining in discussions online. There were also outcomes at senior leadership level who chose to adopt similar ways of working in preparing for and managing leadership meetings.
