Principal focus of the project:

The seminar series provided participants with the opportunity to explore three broad themes (Professional Standards and Workforce Development, Vocational Education and Training, Leadership, Management and Governance) focusing on all types of post-14 providers: Further Education colleges; Sixth-Form colleges; Independent Training Providers; and Adult and Community Learning providers.

What is this about and what were the main findings:

The report outlines a number of conclusions and recomendations, broken down by theme, including: the need to develop enabling mechanisms around the ETF's Professional Standards; the need to support colleges in developing ‘collaborative expertise’; and the challenge of having complementary, but sometimes competing approaches in trying to achieve both business goals and sector values.
