A report summarising a project conducted across multiple providers, to measure how training programmes for unemployed learners lead to progression to sustainable employment or to further education and training.
This research investigated the impact of the funding and guidance available at that time, the local Jobcentre Plus protocols for sharing data and/or learner destinations, and internal systems and processes for tracking unemployed learners' progress. The purpose of the research was to identify what information and practice was known by partner organisations concerning recording and claiming job outcomes funding.
There were a variety of key outcomes from the project, across participating providers. These outcomes included: greater awareness and use of available funding (such as Work and Enterprise Clubs); clearer guidance on recording job outcomes; improved understanding of the benefits of tracking learners to re-engage them for additional qualifications and progression; more knowledge and confidence of how to work with Work Programme providers to increase learner numbers, and; more knowledge of the breadth of provision that could be delivered.
