Through the "In Your Eyes" project experience, South Leicestershire College (SLC) aimed to bring fresh thinking to tackling equality and diversity. Fundamental to this approach is the involvement of ‘learners as trainers’ that is, the practical participation in the project of learners and staff who themselves have experienced and overcome barriers posed by disability, ethnicity, faith, mental health difficulties and socio-economic problems.
